Santiago Canyon College is a public community college in Orange, California, home to the Hawks. The school's teams compete in the Orange Empire Conference, part of the California Community College Athletics Association. The $20 million Athletics and Aquatics Complex, which was designed by Irvine-based The Austin Company, officially opened to students and the community in January 2013. The new facility was made possible through Measure E, a $337 million general obligation bond approved by voters in 2002 to renovate existing campus buildings and construct new classroom facilities throughout the college district. The SCC Gym has a seating capacity of 2,500 with collegiate-sized 3 basketball courts. It has hosted past events that include the DII Tip-Off Classic and USA Volleyball National Team matches. Also on campus is a 25-meter pool for water-polo matches.
