ABOUT ORANGE COUNTY SPORTS COMMISION
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the OCSC will be made up for a collection of destinations to improve the vitality of the Orange County economy and to enrich the community by attracting, creating, managing and enhancing significant sporting and competitive events.

Using the sports platform to make Orange County a premier place to live, work, visit, and play.
The clear priority and operating commitment of OCSC will be to provide a credible foundation for economic development opportunities through sports with a demonstrable economic return on investment. While not looking to usurp the leadership role of other organizations, OCSC will readily collaborate with local event operators, venues, and businesses to ensure we maximize our hosting opportunities through unique partnerships.
Services included under this new operating structure will include (but not be limited to):
- Sports RFP Review on behalf of cities, tourism bureaus, and venues
- Writing bid responses to RFPs
- Sourcing venues, hotels, and volunteers
- Conducting site visits and fam tours
- Building local organizing committees for events
- Community referrals and business referrals
- Destination promotion at trade shows
- Quarterly reporting and newsletter
- Measurement of Economic Impact and Hotel Impact
The ramifications of this transition are significant on many levels. While many of the services rendered will remain the same, the newly added elements will look to improve upon existing weaknesses and enhance the package we can offer events with the end goal being more events and more hotel room nights consumed.
